The Jackson Philatelic Society is member of the American Philatelic Society (APS) and has been in existence for more than 40 years, meeting continuously in Jackson, Mississippi, since 1966. Consisting of more than 60 members from central Mississippi, we meet monthly and share a wide range of philatelic interests, including Mississippi postal history, United States stamp issues, and worldwide stamps. Our society includes members that specialize in stamps and history of various countries of the world as well as local postal history.
Our meetings are on the second Friday evening of each month and are held at the Christ Lutheran Church, 4423 I-55 N, Jackson, Mississippi. Our meetings generally consist of a time of fellowship and sharing of interests, followed by a short business session, a stamp related program presented by a society member, and finally a live auction, consisting of philatelic lots being bought and sold by members. The Jackson Philatelic Society publishes their APS Chapter Activities award winning newsletter monthly.
We hope that you will give us a try by attending the next Jackson Philatelic Society meeting. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. If you make the decision to join our organization we only ask for a modest $15.00 membership fee each year.
If you have any questions about our society or stamp collecting in general, please do not hesitate contacting Jim Pettway, email@example.com
